THE LAURIN small & charming tells its story
Are you ready to immerse yourself in a true love story about the mountains of the Dolomites, Val Gardena and the genuine warmth of Ladin hospitality?
Welcome to THE LAURIN, a small but charming gem surrounded by the majestic peaks of the Val Gardena Dolomites. Our story begins in the 1960s, a time of transformation and discovery, when Rosa and Tommaso Giorgi combined their lives and dreams to create a magical hotel.
Rosa, a native of this fascinating valley, and Tommaso, from Suzzara, met by chance during one of their mountain explorations. Their paths crossed right at the edge of a scenic trail - and in that moment, something special was born. With a passion for nature and a desire to create something meaningful, they decided to build a hotel that would capture the beauty and magic of this place.
In the heart of the Dolomites, amidst breathtaking peaks and enchanting landscapes, Rosa and Tommaso laid the foundations of the Hotel Laurin. With commitment and dedication, they saw their dream grow, room after room, corridor after corridor. Their vision came to life, and the hotel became a welcoming refuge for travellers seeking adventure and serenity.
In 1968, the family grew with the birth of their fifth child, Gregor. The children's laughter echoed through the walls of the hotel, making it even warmer and cosier. As the years went by, the hotel expanded more and more, reflecting the deep bond between the family and this extraordinary area.
In 1997, the management of the hotel was passed on to Gregor and his wife Astrid. Carrying on his parents' legacy, Gregor took the helm with passion and dedication. He had spent the happy days of his childhood within the walls of the hotel, and now it was time for him to make his own mark and create something special for guests from all over the world.
Gregor and Astrid not only carried on the tradition of family hospitality, but also introduced new ideas and services that reflected the changing times. The hotel became a place where travellers could explore the surrounding mountains, immerse themselves in the local culture and experience modern comfort - all with a love and respect for the environment.
In 2022 after the last major renovation, THE LAURIN small & charming embraced its unique identity with a name change. This transformation created an even more exclusive establishment, distinguishing it from the other LAURINs in South Tyrol with which it was often confused.
Today, the Giorgi family continues to be a benchmark for hospitality and dedication to guests in the Dolomites. Astrid and Gregor have three sons - Nicola, Carlo and Marco. Marco has recently joined the family business, bringing with him a sense of freshness and drive, with his infectious passion for the business. With his innovative spirit, Marco is leading the hotel into new adventures, while preserving the warmth and tradition that have made THE LAURIN small & charming so special over the years.

Where the name 'LAURIN' comes from: The story of King Laurin!
In times long past, in the majestic Dolomites, there was an enchanted kingdom known as the Kingdom of Roses. This kingdom was not visible to the eyes of ordinary men, as it was shrouded in a veil of mystery and magic. Here, the King of Roses, known as King Laurin, ruled supreme over a world of beauty and wonder.
King Laurin was a blue-skinned, golden-bearded ruler with a kind and just heart. He was the guardian of a unique rose garden, where the roses had such intense colours and scents that they seemed to feed on light itself. Each petal emanated a soft, magical light that made the kingdom glow even in the darkest nights.
However, the most fascinating secret of the Kingdom of Roses lay in the majestic mountains that surrounded it. When the full moon lit up the sky and the wind sang a sweet melody, the mountains were tinged with pink, as if the very magic of roses was spreading through the land. This amazing spectacle only happened on rare occasions, when the king's heart was filled with joy and love for his kingdom.
